Polyethylene Wax LDPE

Polyethylene LDPE Features and Advantages:

Polyethylene wax LDPE is a type of polyethylene with a low density and a more branched structure compared to other forms of polyethylene. PE wax LDPE is primarily composed of long-chain hydrocarbon molecules. It comes from the polymerization of ethylene monomers. It’s widely used in various industries.

It appears in different forms. Such as solid flakes, beads or powders. Its texture is waxy and in color, it’s white or off-white. The molecular weight of polyethylene wax LDPE can vary. It depends on the manufacturing process and desired properties. In other words, it ranges from several thousand to several hundred thousand grams per mole. Its melting point can vary from around 100°C (212°F) to 120°C (248°F) or higher. In short, it depends on the specific grade and application.

Polyethylene wax LDPE shows excellent lubricating properties. Therefore it reduces friction and wear. It helps prevent adhesion between the molded product and the mold surface. So it makes molding smooth and efficient.

This product can modify the surface properties of materials, such as coatings, inks, and polishes. For example, it enhances surface gloss, smoothness, and scratch resistance. As a result, it improves its appearance and durability.

In certain applications, polyethylene wax LDPE can act as an impact modifier. Therefore it enhances the toughness and impact resistance of materials. It helps absorb and distribute energy during impact, which reduces the possibility of cracking or breaking.

PE wax LDPE shows good thermal stability. So it allows to withstand high temperatures without significant degradation. This property is particularly advantageous in applications where the wax needs to endure elevated processing or operating temperatures.

It is chemically inert and resistant to many chemicals, solvents, and acids. In other words, it is resistant to chemical attacks. Similarly, it is compatible with different substances.

PE wax LDPE is often cost-effective. In other words, it’s an attractive choice for many applications.

  1. Polymerization: Ethylene gas is polymerized under high pressure and temperature to form wax.
  2. Purification: PE wax is then purified using a combination of mechanical and chemical methods to remove any impurities, such as catalyst residues, oligomers, and other byproducts.
  3. Solvent extraction: The purified of PE wax is dissolved in a solvent, such as xylene or heptane, and then filtered or centrifuged to remove any remaining impurities.
  4. De-oiling: The wax may be subjected to a de-oiling process to remove any residual oil or solvent.
  5. Particle size reduction: The polyethylene wax may be milled or ground to achieve a specific particle size or shape such as Flake, Powder, Granule, Pastille depending on the intended use.

One of the most important features of PE Wax is low viscosity imparts high lubrication and anti-sticking properties and tends to reduce or prevent adhesion.

PE Wax is a crispy solid substance in different appearances such as Pastille, Powder, Flake, and Lupm that is an ultra-low molecular weight polyethylene that is suitable for PVC compounding, filler Masterbatch, hot melt adhesive, and external and internal Lubricant.
